Chocolate Pie:

Preparation Time : 20 min.
Total Time : 30 min.
Serving : 6 servings/people.(1 (9-inch) prebaked pie shell).


Method of Preparation:

  1. Separate 3 eggs. Reserve the whites. In a medium bowl with an electric mixer,
  2. beat yolks well. 
  3. Mix sugar, flour and cocoa together in another small bowl and
  4. add to beaten egg yolks. 
  5. Add two cups of warm milk. 
  6. Beat, mix well and put in the top of a double boiler. 
  7. Add butter and cook over medium heat, stirring constantly until custard thickens. 
  8. Cool and add vanilla. 
  9. Pour into baked pie crust. To make meringue, beat egg whites, gradually adding 2 tablespoons of sugar for each egg white. 
  10. Spread over pie and bake in a 350-degree oven for 4 minutes
  11. or until meringue browns. Serve warm or chilled.
